Your privacy is of utmost concern at this website. We understand that we are asking for information that perhaps may be deemed embarrassing by the respondent if used improperly or if matched to personally identifying information. Information Automatically Logged As with most websites, many things about your system are logged immediately upon accessing this site. None of this information is used beyond the developers of this site, and none of this information is released to outside parties. The information used by the developers: IP address : used for statistical reasons, and to determine if you have already taken our survey if deemed necessary (again, statistical reasons). Browser : used for statistical reasons, and to help diagnose possible viewing problems with out site. HTTP Referrer : used to determine how our visitors find out site. Used for publicity reasons. Also used to link back to sites that link to us. Time Zone : used for demographic purposes. Cookies Our Site uses cookies to keep track of your survey session, and to determine if you have already taken our survey if deemed necessary. Cookies are not used for any other purpose. Advertisers We use an outside ad company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our Web site, cookies received with banner ads are collected by our ad company, and we do not have access to this information. Survey Our online surveys ask visitors for contact information (email address only), and demographic information (like age, occupation, ethnicity, sex, etc.), in addition to the actual content of the survey. Email address is stored separately from survey responses. Email address is used solely for the purpose of contacting respondents when the results become available at our web site, and to promote new editions of the survey. Demographic information is used for reporting of statistics. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. External Links This site contains links to other sites. Fartsurvey.com is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. Please note that links to external sites may be unsuitable for children. Use and Sharing of Information We do not use or collect any personally identifying information (i.e. address, name, zip code etc.) from children nor would we share any information we collect from children. With respect to sharing information: We do not share children’s personal information with anyone other than those who provide support for the internal and data operations of the Web site. Privacy Overall Although we do automatically collect information such as IP address for demographic purposes, as well as require users to provide age, general geographic location, and email address, we do NOT know who you are, and we cannot find out who you are in any way, so please be honest in your responses. Children's Guidelines Although this site has made strongly attempted to fully comply with the Online Privacy Protection Act, there are some aspects of this site that may be of concern. This site DOES NOT MEET the Online Privacy Protection Act guidelines. The following criteria are violated: 1. This site has links that are unsuitable for children. 2. This site does not allow the parent to obtain the information collected from the child and provide a way for the parent to prevent the future use of that information. Choice/Opt-Out Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving promotional announcements about our survey and research results. You can send email to damien@fartsurvey.com Data Quality/Access Once the survey has been completed and entered into the database, it cannot be modified. If a user wishes to modify their responses, he/she must request to have their responses deleted by contacting tom@fartsurvey.com, and then complete a new survey. The only other situation in which a user may delete their responses is reserved for parents of children under 13 years of age, in compliance with COPPA.
